1200 metres / 6 furlongs (straight course)
4YOs and upwards
The Diamond Jubilee Stakes is run on the final six furlongs (1200 metres) of the straight mile, with the course rising gradually throughout from the start to the winning post. A detailed topography map is available on request.
As well as regularly falling to European connections, the Diamond Jubilee Stakes has been won by Hong Kong, Australia and America.
Since the inception of the Global Sprint Challenge in 2005, no fewer than 55 horses trained outside Europe have contested the two Royal Ascot legs.
Since 2015, the Diamond Jubilee Stakes has been restricted to four-year-olds and upwards as the Group One Commonwealth Cup is now available for three-year-olds, over the same course and distance.
Please note this does not prevent Southern Hemisphere three-year-olds from running in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes as they are designated four-year-olds in the UK.
